For those of you thinking about joining us on our mission trip to Africa over Spring Break ‘08, please check back here often for updates and deadlines.
APPLICATIONS
Fill out the Mission Trip Application in its entirety. The last page of the application is a Character Reference Form. You’ll need to make 5 copies of this page. The application will tell you what to do with each of them. You should get those Character References sent out so they can be filled out and sent back to Dirk before February 15th. Applications are due before January 1st.
PAYMENTS
The total cost of the trip will be $2,500. This includes airfare, most meals and transportation while in Africa. Airport meals, passport, gifts and souvenirs are not included in this cost. Below you’ll find a breakdown of when monies are due. Please make all checks payable to Woodland Hills Church.
Deposit
A $100 deposit is due by January 1st.
Payment 1
$1,500 is due on or before February 1st.
Final Payment
The remaining $900 will be due on or before February 15th.
Airline tickets will be purchased February 1st. Monies raised cannot be refunded or returned. All extra funds collected by participants will help defray costs for the entire trip.
PASSPORTS
Passports can be obtained at the Asheville Post Office. Passports cost $67 (check or money order) plus $30 (cash, check or credit card) for processing fees. You’ll need 2 photo’s to take with you (2 x 2 inches each) when you apply for your passport. You’ll also need government issued ID with you as well. Expedited service costs $60.

SUPPORT LETTERS
Support letters should be written now and sent out immediately. Please see sample support letter for a rough idea of what your letter should look like and what needs to be included in your letter. Please e-mail your support letter to Dirk for approval before sending them out. He’ll work with you to make any necessary changes to your letter and give you the okay to send them.
Be sure to include a copy of the Contribution Form in each of your letters. Your supporters will need to fill this out and send it back in with their contribution.
